- The whole trip should be under 3 hours from the time you leave the house until your return should you choose to do the entire float and not exit before the “rapids”
- There are inflatable tubes, an inflatable cooler, and air pumps in the outside storage container between the two wood potted trees on your right as you exit the front door. The padlock code for the bin is: 2802
- Use the ropes to loop through the floats to connect yourselves to each other if you like
- IMPORTANT: if you’re using the inflatable cooler you must connect it to at least one of the floats
- The night before check to confirm if the airpumps need to be plugged in to charge.
- If you have 2 vehicles your best option is to drop a car at Drake Park as this is the ending point. If you only have 1 vehicle go to the drop in point (Riverbend Park), park your car there, and take the shuttle back from Drake Park to the drop in parking lot. They charge a couple dollars per person, and take cash only. Please call and check operation times before using the shuttle →
- To start, go to Riverbend park to park your car. Inflate the tubes in the parking lot, and walk down to the drop in point.
- Take some zip lock bags to store cameras, keys, phone, etc. Or a water safe bag if you have one.
- If you have small children with you, you may opt to exit the river early to avoid the very mild controlled rapids. You’ll know when the rapids are approaching as there will be an overhead bridge and you will likely experience a bit of traffic as the floaters are funneled toward the left of the river to enter the rapids. If exiting before the rapids, make your way to the far left and exit before the bridge.
- PRO TIP: If you choose to continue and go through the very mild rapids, lift your booty as you go over the rapids to avoid hitting your tailbone on the rocks
- When returning to the house please lay the river floats out on the grass by the front door if they are still very wet. They should dry quickly. When mostly dry please return the floats, air pumps, etc to the storage bin, and lock the padlock.
